The Art of Soapmaking 101: Introduction to Cold Processed Soapmaking

$69.00 – Includes all equipment and materials – Bring home 8 bars of soap that YOU make! There is a small sale tax charge for materials. Select the “no shipping” option at check out. All students begin with Soapmaking 101 before continuing with more advanced soap making workshops.
Aged 18 or older
The Art of Cold Processed Soapmaking 101: Introduction to Cold Processed Soapmaking: a hands-on class where you will learn about the history of Colonial soapmaking, how to make cold processed soap with premium oils, and how to label your soaps. In this session, you will make 8 bars of soap. Notebook and handouts included.
Our workshops are known for being fun, technical, and creative. There will be additional books, materials, and supplies available for purchase to help you in the next steps of your soap making journey.

Preparation:
Wear old clothes, bring a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and tie your hair back.
To bring home soaps, bring two large brown paper grocery bags (or 16 x 16 x 16 cardboard box) and 4 old bath sized towels.
We provide all the equipment and supplies for the workshop including goggles and gloves. If you prefer your own goggles and gloves, bring them. Students must be age 18 or older.
* If you wish to make an additional loaf of soap or two (each loaf is 8 bars), please email Lori when you register. Each additional loaf of soap is 36.00 (4.50 per bar).
**Due to the nature of our hands-on experience of making soap, it is not possible to provide 6′ of distance. If you have been exposed to covid RSV a cold or the flu or have symptoms, please cancel your workshop. We provide medical care for our disabled daughter who is medically fragile. Students may be asked to wear masks during the workshop.
**This is a 1-day workshop. After you purchase the workshop, you will receive an email in a day or two. There will be several questions. Fill out the information and reply with email. If you have any questions or prefer to register via phone and check, call Lori at 412 629 9234.
**If you are a former student who has taken a workshop and wish to come in on this day and join us for this session as a refresher, we would love to have you register for the workshop. Many students return to join in the camaraderie and to have the pleasure of making their own soaps.

Cancellation Policy – All workshops require payment to secure registration. Materials for workshops are prepared a week in advance. For cancellation, email or call up to 7 days before the event for a refund or to apply registration fees towards a future workshop.
